Hello! Did you love the new catalogue? If you haven’t seen it yet, you can download a copy here.
This week over at ESAD Demo Designs, it was my turn to set the challenge for the week. Loving punches and punch art like I do, the challenge was all about punches!!!
The brief: use a builder punch to create something other than it’s obvious application (ie, the cupcake builder for anything other than a cupcake) and display this on a card, scrap page or 3D item.
There are 5 builder punches in the new catalogue:
For my challenge card, I have used the owl punch (which is one of the most versatile of the builder punches – a must have in any collection!) to make a Minion! There’s another movie featuring cute Minions due out soon so you’ll be seeing them everywhere!
How to make your own Minion:
Body: owl body with ears and feet cut off
Mask: 1/4″ strip trimmed to size
Eye: largest circle & goggly eye (not SU!)
Arms: owl body trimmed from feet to top to create arm/hand shape
Overalls: owl vest with top trimmed off
Overall Straps: owl vest – 1/8″ strip from each side following curve
Overall Legs: 3/16″ strips
Shoes: apple from cupcake builder punch, top cut off
The Happy Birthday font is a Despicable Me type font (Las Vegas) cut using the Silhouette Cameo. The DSP is the very pretty (but retired) Pretty Print – it had the perfect colour scheme to complete this card and reminds me why I hoard DSP!!!
I’m so excited to see what the ESAD ladies come up with for the punch challenge. You’re welcome to play along too. Email me your pictures and I’ll add them to my blog. Kelly x
Hi Kelly, you are just so smart.
I admire your Minions card. I am having difficulty locating
the font for the Happy Birthday in the Silhouette store. Are you able to provide the design ID?
Hi Lorraine Thanks for stopping by. The font is a free download for your computer which you then use with normal text in your cameo. This is the font link: http://www.fontsplace.com/lasvegas-jackpot-free-font-download.html. Kelly x
