Lest We Forget – ANZAC Day 2015

In Australia, today is Anzac today which marks the landing of the first troops at Gallipoli in 1915 and is an annual commemeration of all the Australians who have served and died in all wars, conflicts, and peacekeeping operations (you can read more here).  This year is particularly special because it is the centenerary or 100th anniversary of the landing.

This is the card our family will be leaving at the dawn service today using the lovely JAI 260 sketch:

We will remember them
We will remember them

If you’d like to make your own poppy at home, cut 3 fun flowers from Real Red and curl the edges using a bone folder.  Add two Basic Black petite petals to the middle, the top one snipped with scissors to create a feathered effect.  Adhere each layer using glue dots.

Lest We Forget.  Kelly x
