I’ve been wanting to have a go at a shaker card for ages now! There’s lots of tutorials out there (have a search on youtube), but the basic premise is:
- Cut out a shape using a punch or framelit
- Add window sheet to create a see-through front
- Add some depth using foam to the reverse side along the outline of your shape – Shaker Frames (great for circle shapes) or Stampin’ Dimensionals work well
- Fill with confetti
- Take the backing off the foam pieces
- Attach to your card
I got a little fancy and made the shaker section a peep hole style card, so that you could see through to the inside of the card where I placed a sparkly “1” for the birthday girl. The final version took me a few drafts (I kept doing things around the wrong way!) but I’m delighted with it. Fun, fun, fun! Try one – they make an impression. Kelly x
