Mother’s Day Collection 2014 – Card 5

Today is the final of my Mother’s Day cards for 2014.  A card & envelope all in one.  I think this is a nice spin on the traditional C6 card.  Using the Envelope Punch Board, I made a 6×4 envelope (paper size: 8 & 1/4 x 8 & 1/4; score: 3 & 3/8).  I used Watercolour Wonder DSP – the sheet with the big cantaloupe/coral flowers backed with Crisp Cantaloupe cardstock.  The envelope insert is Calypso Coral & Whisper White cardstock.  The matching flowers are from the Stippled Blossoms stamp set.  The large flower is stamped in Crisp Cantaloupe & Calypso Coral.  The little flowers are Blushing Bride & Crisp Cantaloupe.  The leaves are Pear Pizzazz & Old Olive.  I used the Stamp-a-ma-jig to make sure that my two layers were lined up perfectly.  If you don’t own a SAMJ, you should invest in one today!  They make it so much easier to achieve beautiful cards!

On the outside of the envelope I stamped “Happy Mother’s Day” from the My Mother stamp set in Calypso Coral and added another large Stippled Blossom.  I used rare earth magnets attached with glue dots to keep the envelope closed when not in use.  I don’t intend to send this anywhere, but if you wanted to pop it in the post, you’d be best to create another envelope (4 & 1/2 x 6 & 1/2) using your Envelope Punch Board again.

Hopefully there has been enough inspiration this week for you to find something to make for your Mum.  If you happened to arrive at my blog, liked one of my cards but don’t make cards yourself, please contact me as I am happy to take orders for any of my creations.  Wishing all the mothers in the world a very Happy Mother’s Day!  Kelly x
